Greyhound Family Tales: We had to let Blue go today. It's the most difficult thing I've ever had to do. He broke his femur this morning just walking to go outside. The emergency vet and oncologist confirmed our worst fears. Our boy had cancer. We labored over our options which weren't options at all. Typically they'd recommend amputation (followed by chemo) but Blue wasn't a good candidate for amputation because of an already severely weak back end. So, it was with the heaviest of broken hearts that we said good bye to our sweet boy. My heart. My life. We're so thankful you were ours and let us love you. You will be missed forever.
